    PID Controllers Performance On Dual Axis Tracking With Tetrahedron Based Sensor

    This study compares control systems applied to a dual-axis tetrahedron-based sensor tracker. A tetrahedron-based sensor is a tracking sensor that can detect the coordinates of a light source. This study aims to determine a control system that can control sensors with high accuracy and precision and has a fast-tracking ability. Tests are carried out periodically by providing light at certain coordinates. After carrying out the testing and analysis process, it is concluded that the P controller is a better control system than the other controllers. This controller can control sensors with high accuracy and precision compared to PI, PD, and PID control systems. The P controller can also control the sensor to move towards the light coordinates with a travel time of 1.6 seconds on the X-axis and 3.1 seconds on the Y-axis, with a MAE value of 1.1 on the X-axis and 0.3 on the Y-axis. While the RSME value obtained is 1.33 on the X-axis and 0.55 on the Y-axis

    Teknik Reduksi Energi Pada Perancangan Data Logger Parameter Matahari

    The research discusses about the energy saving techniques in the design of data logger devices based on AVR microcontroller for monitoring parameters of the air temperature and sunlight intensity in the visible light spectrum. These energy reduction techniques include hardware aspects such as the use of the minimum system, peripherals power supply control and software such as sleep-mode. When the intensity of sun light increases, the interrupt pin will activate the system, otherwise the system is in a state of sleep-mode. The electrical energy consumption of the data logger is continuously observed and recorded on an external memory (SD card) in real-time as so the 24 hours energy consumption can be known and the long-term-used energy can be predicted. Based on the results of measurements and calculations it is known that it takes energy of 8.23 Wh to turn the data logger for 24hours. With this reduction technique, the data logger energy consumption can be reduced by 68.5%

    Studi Komparasi Kinerja Teknologi Near Field Communication Pada Sistem Berbasis Android dan Embedded System

    Penelitian ini membahas perbandingan kinerja dua perangkat berbasis Android dan Embedded system dalam melakukan pembacaan tag Near Field Communication.  Android dengan modul NFC NXP PN544 dan Embedded system dengan modul MFRC522. Studi kasus yang dilakukan untuk penelitian ini dengan menerapkannya pada manajemen aset. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui kinerja dari kedua perangkat tersebut terdapat perbedaan signifikan atau tidak. Untuk mengetahui hal tersebut, penelitian ini menggunakan metode statistik uji Mann Whitney yang menghitung variabel waktu dan jarak ketika tag NFC berhasil terdeteksi, membaca, dan menampilkan informasi. Dengan metode uji Mann Whitney tersebut dapat diketahui terdapat perbedaan signifikan dari kedua perangkat tersebut berdasarkan hasil yang didapatkan. Setelah dilakukan pengujian, jarak efektif pada kedua alat didapatkan pada jarak 15 mm, 10 mm, dan 5 mm dengan pengujian pembacaan 15 tag NFC pada setiap jarak. Kemudian hasil tersebut diuji dengan metode Mann Whitney pada jarak 15 mm didapatkan nilai signifikasi sebesar .001, kemudian pada jarak 10 mm didapatkan nilai signifikasi sebesar .000, serta jarak 5 mm didapatkan nilai signifikasi sebesar .000 dan dari ketiga pengujian tersebut membuktikan bahwa kedua perangkat terdapat perbedaan signifikan dalam melakukan pembacaan tag NFC

    The Weights Detection of Multi-criteria by using Solver

    Multi criteria, which are generally used for decision analysis, have certain characteristics that relate to the purpose of the decision. Multi criteria have complex structures and have different weights depending upon the consideration of assessors and the purpose of the decision also. Expert’s judgment will be used to detect the criteria weights that applied by assessors. The aim of this study is a model to detect the criteria weights and biases on the subcontractor selection and detecting the significant weights, as decisive criteria. A method, which is used to modeling the weights detection, is the Solver Application. Data, totaling 40 sets, has been collected that consist of the assessor’s assessment and the expert’s judgment. The result is a pattern of weights and biases detection. The proposed model have been able to detect of 20 criteria weights and biases, that consist of 4 criteria in  the total weights of 60% (as decisive criteria) and 16 criteria in the total weights of 40%. A model has been built by training process performed by the Solver, which the result for MSE training is 9.73711e-08 and for MSE validation is 0.00900528. Novelty in the study is a model to detect pattern of weights criteria and biases on subcontractor selection by transferring the expert's judgment using Solver Application

    Improvement of binarization performance using local otsu thresholding

    Ancient document usually contains multiple noises such as uneven-background, show-through, water-spilling, spots, and blur text. The noise will affect the binarization process. Binarization is an extremely important process in image processing, especially for character recognition. This paper presents an improvement to Nina binarization technique. Improvements were achieved by reducing processing steps and replacing median filtering by Wiener filtering. First, the document background was approximated by using Wiener filter, and then image subtraction was applied. Furthermore, the manuscript contrast was adjusted by mapping intensity of image value using intensity transformation method. Next, the local Otsu thresholding was applied. For removing spotting noise, we applied labeled connected component. The proposed method had been testing on H-DIBCO 2014 and degraded Jawi handwritten ancient documents. It performed better regarding recall and precision values, as compared to Otsu, Niblack, Sauvola, Lu, Su, and Nina, especially in the documents with show-through, water-spilling and combination noises

    Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) applies information and communication technologies for transportation management. The problem in the study is the importance of computer vision tools to determine the volume of traffic on the highway. The design of computer vision device is performed using a static camera and the bounding box method for determining the traffic volume based on vehicle type, namely light vehicles, heavy vehicles (trucks) and motorcycles that are applied on the Gaussian Mixture Models (GMM). The classification is based on the pixel area of vehicle objects. The tests were carried out at Jalan T. Nyak Arief, Jambotape, Banda Aceh. The test results of the system achieved an accuracy of 79.32%

    ABSTRAKPengembangan website pada setiap Perguruan Tinggi (PT) diharapkan menjadi media informasi dan komunikasi yang efektif dengan masyarakat. Sebuah website akan mendapatkan pengunjung yang banyak jika menempati peringkat teratas pada halaman mesin pencari. Teknik untuk optimasi website yaitu SEO on-page dan off-page. Perubahan algoritma mesin pencari sangat berdampak terhadap peringkat website. Website yang tidak memperhatikan perubahan algoritma akan menyebabkan peringkat website menurun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui teknik optimasi SEO terbaik untuk menaikkan peringkat website pada mesin pencari google berdasarkan perubahan algoritma terbaru. Untuk mendapatkan tujuan penelitian, langkah pertama peneliti melakukan analisis penilaian terhadap website resmi Perguruan Tinggi Negeri dan Swasta di Aceh sebagai pemetaan awal untuk melihat sejauh mana penerapan SEO yang telah diterapkan. Langkah kedua, di rancang dan di bangun empat buah website sampel yang diterapkan optimasi SEO yang berbeda sebagai pengujian teknik optimasi terbaik dalam mendapatkan peringkat pada mesin pencari google. Berdasarkan hasil analisis penilaian dan pengujian website sampel dihasilkan suatu rekomendasi optimasi SEO terbaik dalam mendapatkan peringkat pada mesin pencari google. Hasil analisis menunjukkan website perguruan tinggi di Aceh belum memperhatikan aspek SEO pada websitenya berdasarkan nilai SEO rata-rata 45,28 untuk website PTN dan 40,83 untuk PTS.     In recent years, cross spectral matching has been gaining attention in various biometric systems for identification and verification purposes. Cross spectral matching allows images taken under different electromagnetic spectrums to match each other. In cross spectral matching, one of the keys for successful matching is determined by the features used for representing an image. Therefore, the feature extraction step becomes an essential task. Researchers have improved matching accuracy by developing robust features. This paper presents most commonly selected features used in cross spectral matching. This survey covers basic concepts of cross spectral matching, visual and thermal features extraction, and state of the art descriptors. In the end, this paper provides a description of better feature selection methods in cross spectral matching

    FPGA-based Design System for a Two-Segment Fibonacci LFSR Random Number Generator

    For a long time, random numbers have been used in many fields of application. Much work has been conducted to generate truly random numbers and is still in progress. A popular method for generating random numbers is a linear-feedback shift register (LFSR). Even though a lot of work has been done using this method to search for truly random numbers, it is an area that continues to attract interest. Therefore, this paper proposes a circuit for generating random numbers. The proposed circuit is designed to produce different sequences of numbers. Two segments of Fibonacci LFSR are used to form a generator that can produce more varied random numbers. The proposed design consists of blocks: segment 1, segment 2, and a clock controller. The system produces random numbers based on an external clock. The clock signal for the first segment is that of the external clock, whereas that for the second segment is modified by the clock controller. The second stage (segment 2) is executed only after every 2n1−1 clock cycles. The proposed design can generate different sequences of random numbers compare to those of the conventional methods. The period of the proposed system is less than that of the original Fibonacci LFSR. However, the period is almost equal to the original one when the system is realized in 32-bit or 64-bit form. Finally, the proposed design is implemented on a field-programmable gate array (FPGA). It occupies more area and runs at a lower frequency compared with the original Fibonacci LFSR. However, the proposed design is more efficient than the segmented leap-ahead method concerning space occupancy
